every day we –THE YOUTH gets an inspirational dose of speech from various sources {media, politicians ,mzees,our parents and teachers} , made with a motive to make us realise that WE are the essence of this developing country….our nation “INDIA”.

Undoubtedly no one among us would disagree with this view…yes …WE are the life of our country …WE are the engine of the vehicle made to drive our motherland towards development …..but unfortunately

WE are just engines and not the fuel of this vehicle …..

WE are bestowed with uncountable power and potential but still WE are powerless…..

After some 16 years all o f sudden a file of case from the plethora of ‘under process’ cases was reopened hitting all the headlines of media…..”ruchika case”

An extract describing Ruchika case {in brief}- a 14 year girl was molested by then Haryana IGSPS rathore in panchkula in 1990.THREE years later she commited suicide which her friend and case witness aradhana attributes to the harassment of ruchika and her family by THOSE IN POWER.

Nineteen years later ,rathore walks away with 6 months of rigorous imprisonment and a 1000 rs fine and is out on bail.

Ruchika is no more breathing the life which she considered a curse for her and her family in this cruel world…..but i don’t think she is resting in peace…..like many other numerous cases even this case and its result will be washed away from our temoparory human memories and will be refreshed when some other ruchika will enter in this world……or i should say WE ‘ll reminisce ruchika when media ‘ll uncover some other such case….because as per as the former statement alot of ruchika dies every week and their hidden stories are closed even before getting opened with their graves.

People like YOU and me living a ‘normal’ life cant even imagine a bit of pain that her parents must have felt seeing their daughter lifeless even before death. You and me enjoying late night parties cant even feel what her parents must have felt when every night they lied on their bed sheding tears in remembrance of their beloved daughter and having a sleep full of nightmares consisting threats given by ‘those who are in power’ for taking their son’s life too.

Can you estimate the level of trauma which that girl who was too young even to understand the meaning of ‘molestation’ might have been going through before commiting suicide.?

Can you feel how the father of that teenage girl must have felt when instead of showing his volcanic grudge he cried on feet of ‘those who are in power’ pleading them to return his daughter’s dead body?

The issue is just not that a person in power did something so shameful…..

The issue is just not that after 16 long years the accused was punished by giving 6 month of rigorous jail …..

The issue is just not that there are uncountable such cases…..

But the issue is that instead of momentous anger why there is only momentarily anger?

the issue is that a public servant stabbed his master ….and his master is powerless to punish him…..

The issue is that {though momentarily } WE cluchted our teeth and tighten our fists but WE are powerless to punch it on the right place.

The issue is that when ruchika’s case was hitting the lines of every news paper there was still page 3 full of colourful life of people living ‘normal ‘lives…..

The issue is that when that poor girl was considering every breathe of her a pain for her near and dear ones….the accused was getting promoted and awarded for his contribution for public service .

The issue is that what are the ways by which WE can bring the change by ourselves instead of relying on some paralysed authorities to win the fight.

We have power but still WE don’t know how to use them…

WE are just all mouth warm blood …want a change but do not dare to bring the hidden hero out …..

WE are emotional but are WE some lachrymose youth…..

Knowingly or unknowingly WE have lost our direction of strength in the labyrinth of streets of self satisfaction,self development and self safety.

Are WE guys just to criticize or comment on an event after it has happened??

C’mon people our thoughts need to go beyond ‘just need of change’ and our reactions to actions against humanity should go beyond just an instant and expressing brief grief…..

Our mottos should now shift from “DO OR DIE” to “DO BEFORE YOU DIE”.
